Cycle for legislative assistants

Legislative assistants at the French National Assembly or Senate, or the European Parliament, can enhance their abilities by taking an extensive six-month course at ENA which is expressly intended for them.

This course is held in Paris from October to April. There are two two-hour sessions every Monday, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

There are thirty participants in the course each year. The cost of this training is € 750, paid in part or in full by the legislative bodies concerned, which also relay all applications to the school.

Courses are multidisciplinary, and are given either by high-level civil servants on active duty in the administration or by university professors. The program is organized into 5 major modules, each covered in from six to ten sessions. These are:

  • The evolution of French institutions;
  • Goal-based management;
  • Local governments;
  • Modernizing the action of the administration;
  • European questions.
